Heart Matters

Some paintings begin in the garden; these begin within. Heart Matters is where I paint what I’m feeling: the moods of a particular day, and the values I carry with me always, like empathy, compassion and a sense of wonder. I let bold color and gesture lead the way, often asking “why?” and “how?” as the layers build. After all, the heart wants what the heart wants.
