The Spirit of Landscape

These are landscapes felt more than seen. Rather than painting a particular place, I paint the impression it leaves: the sweep of a field, the line of a distant shore, the light at the end of the day. Layer by layer, each painting finds its balance between broad open spaces and small surprising details.
